Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The E2c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes - even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries. The E2c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components, producing outstanding audio clarity that allows you to hear your music like never before.Because every ear is different, E2c Earphones come with three pairs (small, medium, large) of disposable Foam Sleeves, and three pairs (small, medium, large) of Flex Sleeves to ensure the ideal personalized fit. The soft, flexible sleeves in the Fit Kit gently contour the inside of the ear for a comfortable, secure fit so that the earphones don't fall out while you're exercising. The E2c's cables pass behind the ear - out of sight and out of the way - to provide a more comfortable, discreet fit.Weighing only 1 oz (30g), the E2c is lightweight and comfortable enough for any portable listening application - packing a big punch in such a compact package.

1 out of 5 stars Very. Disappointed.   January 6, 2009

These headphones are an absolute waste of money if you like any sort of BASS. The lows comes in REALLY lo, like barely audible, whereas the highs and mids kind of pop, creating a VERY TINNY sound, not warm at all. I'm really disappointed I spent $70 on these. The $15 headphones I bought at bestbuy sound infinitely better. If I could get my money back, I would return these in a heartbeat.

3 out of 5 stars Good Sound Overall, So-So Bass, A Little Awkward Feeling   January 6, 2009
Clay Distler (NYC metro)
I researched a bit before deciding on these. They do have good sound and maybe its more accurate than the Brookstone Sound Isolating Earbuds for half the price but the sounds is not nearly as full. And yes I did try all the recommendations I read, all of the many options of earpiece adapters they provided. Part of the fit and comfort problem was just that the earpieces are heavy enough that they want to fall out. I'm not an audiophile, but I'm also pretty damn picky. I have a high end stereo system with old Polk Audio Speakers, generally prefer vinyl, use full-sized studio headphones at home (Sennheiser HD-280 Professional Headphones for what it's worth) and encode my audio usually in 256 bitrate AAC, never lower for music. And I do listen to some bass heavy music but also country, folk, classical, and much more. And yes, I did also use the EQ to no avail. That's my two cents. Maybe they'll work better for you. Good luck.

3 out of 5 stars Good, If you like in-ears   January 4, 2009

I was on the market for a pair of earbuds to replace those terrible ipod pack-ins. After much research, I settled on these. I must say, they lived up to the praise in regards to sound quality. You'll be surprised by the small nuances that good headphones can uncover in your music. These are pretty balanced headphones so you're hearing the music as it was recorded. If you love your big bass, look elsewhere.

However, what I didn't expect was how uncomfortable they would get after a while. After finding that none of the foam pieces gave me a good seal, I used the soft rubber fittings. They feel fine for a bit but they soon make me want to tug at my earlobes to take the pressure off my ear canal. Of course, after doing this, I lose the seal and have to re-insert the buds. Annoying.

All in all, good sound quality, but your level comfort may vary.

I think these are great... Once you get a good fit in your ears. The bass is phenomenal, clean hi's overall range is very good. The outside world is truly left outside. I use these for my MP3 player and PSP (movies and games).

Now the down side: is that any rubbing on the cables is transmitted straight to you ears which can be very annoying, with that being said these are not ideal for running or a lot of brisk walking plus the way these baby isolate you from the rest of world I would not go jogging/walking with these. I do work out with them and I use the medium size rubber plugs and they tend to work there way loose especially once I really start to sweat they can be hard to keep in place well enough to keep the good sound and drawn out surrounding noise.
I clean my ears every morning and every night so ear wax is not a problem for me in addition I do use the wax guards that is supplied and I will change them out every few months or so.
If you like the sound of good clean music then I would recommend you give these a try, granted they are not for everyone but you maybe pleasantly surprised...

4 out of 5 stars Sounds and fit are Great but other minor issues   November 23, 2008

Sounds great and comes with a foam and rubber ear plugs in three sizes (a total of 6) so you are sure to find something that is comfortable and fits well. High quality constructing (gold plated contact, decent strain relief on BOTH ends of the wires). Sound is high quality and very good background isolation (I can turn the sound down on my iPod, while I am on a train platform that is 20' away from the freeway).

The disappointments include:
It is not one single cable, but a short (18") cable for the earpieces and a SEPARATE longer (24") extension cable. So while the earpieces are light the connectors at the end of the extension cable/earphone cable weigh it down and pull on your ears.

Travel case is big - Hangs from your belt, but doesn't fit in your pocket.

Straight plug on the end - Right angle plug would be much much more convenient.

Overall: Pretty good but overall excellent for the price.
