The battery installed fine, bringing my old iPod back to life. It was pretty difficult getting the case apart the first time, but of course that is no fault of this product. :-)
Even if you've already upgraded to a newer one as I have, this is still worth the $5 if you can find a use for the old one (I have mine full-time connected to my home theater receiver).
